Edition 29: Creativity needs Humans to stay alive
The layers that hold us together with Group Of Humans, Founder, Rob Noble
Group Of Humans wasn’t built to be another agency or consultancy. It was created as a collective intelligence - a place where one hundred humans, drawn from a hundred different worlds, could work together to solve problems that no single Human could.
Humans who’ve designed cities, filmed from space, built brands, and helped others think differently. Each carries a lifetime of experience, a point of view shaped by time, craft, and curiosity. When those perspectives overlap, something special happens, the edges blur, the ideas expand, and the outcomes feel alive.
That’s the essence of what we do. But it’s also the hardest thing to describe.
Designing a collective that feels Human
Our new website is designed to sell, of course, but through experience, not explanation. To make you feel something, before you know what we do.
Every decision, the pace of the scroll, the rhythm of the language, the weight of the white space, is designed to reflect what it feels like to be part of this group. You’re not meant to consume information. You’re meant to feel belonging, even if only for a moment.
Because that’s what Group Of Humans is, not a network, but a community. A collective of Humans who believe that design, technology, and culture are not separate disciplines, but different ways of exploring the same question:
How do we make the future more Human?
The moment feels right
Something is shifting. Everywhere you look, AI-generated sameness is reaching saturation. The slop is piling high.
And into that noise, a new kind of clarity emerging, a hunger for good Humans. For those who bring experience, taste, and instinct. For voices that can guide rather than generate, and create work that feels intentional, not artificial.
It feels like the right time for Humans to return to the fore. Not as nostalgia, but as necessity.
This week, someone I’ve never met, a client of Paul Bennett, one of our Design Partners, sent a message after Paul shared this post on Instagram.
It made me smile, then stop. That simple line “PLEASE FREE US” captures the state of so many leaders today.
That’s where the world is right now. Humanity at a technological and moral crossroads. And perhaps, our greatest moment of leverage yet.
Underneath that hunger sits a truth we’ve built around from the start, that creativity needs Humans to stay alive.
The layers that make it work
What looks effortless from the outside is, in truth, a carefully layered structure. Each layer plays its part:
Our Humans. A hundred individuals who represent the full spectrum of human creativity and intelligence.
Our Capabilities. The shared languages we speak, design, technology, futures, and culture, the four forces that keep us relevant.
Our Initiatives. The arenas where we apply ourselves, health, education, environment, finance, government, and space.
Our Archetypes. Our roles that bring our instincts to life - Architects, Storytellers, Makers, Strategists, Guides, Challengers, and Synthesisers.
This structure isn’t there to organise the work. It’s there to protect the humanity within it, to make sure we never lose the balance between imagination and discipline, between instinct and structure. It lets us be more than a sum of individuals, without ever feeling corporate.
Finding the right kind of client
Not everyone fits. And that’s okay. We look for leaders who are curious, restless, and open to collaboration, the kind who want to shape what’s next, not just protect what’s now.
Some come to us to reconnect design to business impact. Others to bring clarity to complex brands or to spark innovation inside large, traditional organisations.
Many arrive at a crossroads, overextended, under-inspired, and ready to work differently.
When we find them the alignment is instant. The layers click into place, and something remarkable happens: new ideas form, faster and cleaner than they would anywhere else.
That’s when the work truly begins.
Why we exist
At its core, Group Of Humans is a response to what the world has become, fast, loud, automated, distracted.
We built something slower. Smaller. Sharper. A place where experience still matters, taste still counts, and imagination still leads.
We help organisations re-centre around what makes them Human, how they lead, create culture, innovate, and tell their story. Because progress without empathy isn’t progress at all.
The answer doesn’t come from one mind. It comes from the collective brilliance of a Group Of Humans - a place built for those ready to share their ambition.
A brand builder finding the edge.
A founder racing to the next raise.
A design leader navigating transformation.
A change maker breaking new ground.
We bring the right Humans at the right moment, together we make it real.
